Service Description: Leads public health emergency preparedness, management, and recovery activities to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of clients and staff at the Middlesex-London Health Unit, as well as the residents of Middlesex County and/or the City of London. These activities address disruptions, planned events, and emergencies.
 
Collaborates with public health program areas, healthcare facilities, municipalities, community and government agencies, and service providers to ensure coordinated delivery of public health programs during emergencies.

Takes a lead role in managing emergencies related to:
  • Communicable Disease
  • Food Safety
  • Water Safety

 Supports broader emergency response in the community, including:

  • Acting as a supportive partner in municipal responses to other emergencies, such as extreme weather events
  • Conducting assessments, raising awareness, and monitoring potential public health hazards

Provides general information to the public as needed.
