Service Description: Outpatient and inpatient services for taking images of the body to diagnose medical conditions

Bone mineral densitometry - X-rays to determine signs osteoporosis and fracture risk

Computerized tomography (CT scan) - 3-D digital x-ray images used for detecting, diagnosing and treating specific diseases and conditions

Echocardiography - Examination of the heart using ultrasound

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) - 3-D digital images of internal organs and tissues using magnetic radio frequency waves to create images for diagnostic purposes. Stratford General Hospital does not have an open-bore MRI machine.

Mammography - Screening and diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds

Nuclear medicine - Examining of various body parts using radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease

Ultrasound - Images of internal organs using ultrasonic waves used to detect and diagnose specific diseases and conditions

X-ray - Medical radiation equipment to produce x-ray images and perform procedures used for detecting, diagnosing and treating specific diseases and conditions
