Service Description: Friendly Calls Program is available across Ontario and registration is through email only * telephone calls are made on a regular basis by trained Red Cross volunteers who provide supportive listening, social interaction, emotional support, encourage healthy coping strategies, and suggest well-being resources and community connections to other existing services to the call recipients * home and community care clients over the age 65 are prioritized, but this service is extended to any adult who may benefit from a friendly call to help reduce anxiety, depression, or loneliness * calls can range from a two-minute safety check-in to a longer social chat
