Service Description: Program providing trained peer support and drop-in centre

Peer Support Program - provides trained peer supporters with lived experience and now in recovery * peer supporters assist through:
  • non-judgemental listening
  • connection to other agencies and provide information on community resources
  • support with personal issues such as housing, food, hygiene and recreation
  • assistance in increasing social connections
  • person-centred goal setting and/or problem solving
  • support for family members to understand the loved one's experience

Oxford Self Help (OSH) – Drop-in centre providing programs such as support groups including Coping with Anxiety and Schizophrenia Support, educational groups such as boundaries and assertiveness, self-care and photography, wellness groups such as mindfulness and meditation, psycho-social rehab groups around eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and social/activity groups which include crafts and card games

Transitional Discharge Model (TDM) - Peer support service for individuals experiencing major life transitions such as moving from hospital to community while recovering from a mental health challenge * peer support mentoring may include assisting with problem-solving, learning a new skill or sharing tools and resources

Outpatient Peer Support Group - For those recently discharged from hospital * program includes goal setting, discussion on challenges and accomplishments since discharge
