Service Description: The Social Insurance Number (SIN) is a nine-digit number used in the administration of various Canadian government programs * it is required to work in Canada or to receive government benefits for Canadian citizens, permanent residents and temporary residents * children over 12 years can apply for their own card, and parents/guardians can apply for children under the age of majority
