Service Description: Formal evaluation and credit-granting process allows students 18 years and older to obtain credits through prior learning

Prior learning includes the knowledge and skills that adults have acquired, in both formal and informal ways, outside the secondary school (for example, work, training, volunteering) * up to 26 of the 30 credits required for a high school diploma can be granted
Upgrading classes assist with:
  • getting back on track to completing grade 12 diploma
  • preparing for the GED test 
  • learning new computer skills
  • upgrading for the PSW (Personal Support Worker) course
  • learning about financial literacy
  • getting ready for a job or a job promotion
  • improving employability skills building confidence


Fees: Set fee * tuition free for Canadian Citizens and Landed Immigrant adults (excluding PSW course) * activity fee for some courses including PSW course
Application: Assessment required * call for an appointment
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Open to adults 18 and over, EI recipients and displaced workers, persons re-entering the work force and resuming their education
