Warming Centres Provide Relief from Cold Weather
Warming centres are available during this Cold Weather Alert issued by the Middlesex London Health Unit. Community centres and public library locations are open for anyone who needs to chase away the chill.

Feel free to drop-in and warm up. Across the city, 12 community centres are open:

Outreach teams, including London CAReS, will be extra vigilant to spot and assist individuals suffering in the cold. Emergency shelters are available to provide immediate emergency shelter and will be making special arrangements to provide warming spaces: • Men’s Mission and Rehabilitation Centre, 459 York Street, N6B 1R3 • The Salvation Army Centre of Hope, 281 Wellington Street, N6B 2L4 • Unity Project, 717 Dundas Street, N5W 2Z5

Youth Opportunities Unlimited – Youth Drop-In Centre (16 – 24 years of age) 332 Richmond St (corner of Richmond & York), N6A 3C3 Open Monday – Friday 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm Breakfast provided Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 10:00 am **Youth can access the centre any time during 8:00 am – 9:00 pm regardless of programming schedules. Staff are onsite to provide access to longer term shelters, mitts, hats, coats, food, etc.

Our Homeless serving organizations are advising there is an urgent need for socks, hats, mittens, scarves and blankets. Donations are gratefully accepted, at any time, at the Salvation Army Centre of Hope, located at 281 Wellington St. The Salvation Army would be pleased to distribute to agencies and those in need. Agencies including My Sisters Place, Unity Project, At Lohsa, Mission Services, Youth Opportunities Unlimited will also accept your donations.
