United Way of Perth-Huron
United Way Perth-Huron at 95% of Goal Only $55,000 more to go to hit $1,115,000 Goal

United Way Perth Huron has had a very healthy 2013 campaign this year and is currently sitting at 95%.

Campaign Co-Chair Ron Shaw says; “While we have raised over a million dollars to date, we still need to dig a bit deeper and raise over $50,000 to hit our goal of $1,115,000. We are counting on the people of Perth and Huron to once again help us reach our goal. With 1 in 3 people in our community relying on us, we won’t give up until we get there.”

To help bring more donations in, The Past Campaign Chairs are hosting a Burger Night at Downie Street Burgers on Monday, February 10th. Elizabeth Cooper, the 2012 Campaign Co-Chair is the main organizer. “I am thrilled to be able to help again. United Way is so important to our community and we have to help them hit goal”. There are still a few tickets available for the 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. seatings. For more information or for tickets call 519-271-7730.

Over 50 agencies, projects, and divisions across Perth and Huron Counties are dependent on funding from United Way. Nearly every citizen knows someone, or uses these services themselves.

The United Way Perth Huron increased their campaign goal by $32,988 from $1,082,012 (in 2012) to $1,115,000 (in 2013) to address the increasing needs of its agencies. “We knew it would be challenging to increase the goal so substantially”, says executive director Ryan Erb, “but we also know that we have a responsibility to provide for the needs of the people.”

The campaign officially wraps up on Thursday, February 20th, 2014 so there is still time to give. Donations can be made to United Way Perth-Huron by calling 519-271-7730 or 1-877-818-8867 or by visiting us at www.perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
