You're Invited to “Let’s Talk London” In Celebration of Clara’s Big Ride

“Let’s Talk London” is a unique community event that will feature 6 time Olympian Clara Hughes as our keynote speaker, with the goals of inviting Londoners to open the conversation and help remove the stigma associated with mental illness. The London and District Distress Centre has been chosen as the community champion for Clara’s Big Ride and we would like to invite you to help us welcome Clara to London Ontario!

Clara will make her appearance in London on Wednesday March 19, 2014, as part of Clara’s Big Ride, where she is riding across Canada to encourage long-term positive change in communities in regards to mental illness. Clara will stop in 95 communities, and travel 12,000 km throughout the 110 day ride.

Guests will enjoy the music of local musician Sarah Smith during a “5 – 8” reception, while networking and sampling delicious appetizers served in the Western Fair’s Carousel Room.

Local mental health organizations will have the opportunity to set up booths and provide information about their services on the evening of the March 19th at the reception.

Three local community members will be speaking at the event, sharing their inspirational stories of their lived experience with mental illness, and building momentum for Clara Hughes as the keynote speaker.

The London and District Distress Centre has been providing support to the residents of London and Middlesex for the past 45 years. In 2013 the Centre received nearly 21,000 calls on our help lines. 1,137 of those calls were suicide related. By participating in “Let’s Talk London,” you will have the opportunity to promote your organization and the services you offer to individual’s right here in the London and Middlesex community.

Not For Profit Display Opportunity

The London and District Distress Centre would like to give local non-profit organizations the opportunity to display their promotional materials at “Let’s Talk London” Celebrating Clara’s Big Ride. For $130 you will have access to a display table for signage and promotional materials and you will be given 2 tickets to “Let’s Talk London”, a $60 value.

We are expecting 500 people to attend this premier event on Wednesday March 19.

To register and reserve your space, contact Sarah Lagrove at sarah@londondistresscentre.com. Space is limited so reserve your table today!
