Health Unit Receives Accreditation with Exemplary Standing
Accreditation Canada has updated the Grey Bruce Health Unit to Accredited with Exemplary Standing. Achieving Accreditation Canada’s highest status comes after a review of additional evidence put forward as a follow-up to the Accredited with Commendation standing attained last September.
“This achievement demonstrates your organization’s determination and commitment to ongoing quality improvement.” states Bernadette MacDonald, Vice President, Innovation and Development with Accreditation Canada. “We applaud your leadership, staff, and accreditation team members for their efforts and dedication to the provision of safe, quality health services.”
Last year the Grey Bruce Health Unit undertook a rigorous survey comparing areas of leadership, governance, program and service delivery against Accreditation Canada standards for quality and safety.
Accreditation Canada provides an external peer review to assess services based on standards of excellence. Accreditation Canada is a not-for-profit, independent organization accredited by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua).
