Participants Wanted for Autism Spectrum Disorder Study

Doctors at Western University and Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario are studying a new medication (riluzole) for the treatment of children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Participation will require approximately 9 visits to Children's Hospital of Western Ontario over a 4 month period. Each visit will take about two hours. Questionnaires about symptoms and side effects will be completed at each visit, and blood samples will be required at 5 of the appointments in order to monitor side effects. Medication will be provided at no cost during the study, and expenses related to participation (such as parking) will be paid for by the investigators. Participants will also receive compensation for their time and effort.

If you (or your child) are between the ages of 6 and 17, have Autism Spectrum Disorder, and are interested in participating in this study, please contact Dr. Rob Nicolson’s Research Office at 519-685-8500 ext 74906 for further information.
