Grey Bruce Health Unit
Celebrating Nurses
Grey Bruce celebrates National Nursing Week, May 12-14, with events highlighting nursing excellence. The Grey Bruce Health Unit is proud to partner with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) to present Best Practice Champions. This media event, 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 8, at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, 101 17th Street East, Owen Sound, will showcase leading-edge nursing practice demonstrated by the Health Unit as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization.
Keynote speaker Irmajean Bajnok, Director of RNAO International Affairs and Best Practice Guidelines Centre, will speak to the RNAO’s role in supporting Best Practice.
The event will present an overview of the five Best Practice Guidelines at the Grey Bruce Health Unit: Breastfeeding, Client-Centred Care, Postpartum Depression Interventions, Prevention of Falls in Older Adults, and Prevention of Childhood Obesity. Best Practice are internationally recognized research-based guidelines for clinical practice. They represent innovative approaches that have a positive impact on the health and well-being of clients.
The media event is being held in conjunction with the Best Practice Champion Open House hosted by the Grey Bruce Health Unit. Nurses from across the region are invited to the Open House to share with their colleagues and learn more about evidence-based nursing practice and the role of the nurse in the changing health care system.
