7th Annual Bruce Grey Seniors Fair Celebrates Seniors Month
To celebrate Seniors month, the 7th annual United Way Bruce Grey Seniors’ Fair will be held on Wed, Jun 11, 2014 from 10am-3pm at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
The annual event is staged by the United Way Bruce Grey and sponsored by Dadcomp Inc., Final Wishes-Farenhorst Insurance and Closing the Gap Healthcare Group.
Doors open at 9:45am with the opening ceremonies begin at 10am. and the first 300 visitors will receive free welcome bags & flowers. More than 77 exhibitors will have information and exhibit products and services for seniors. New this year: stop by and have your caricature created by professional artist.
The first seminar begins at 10:30am when the OPP will host “Driving Success for Seniors”. There will also be a free drop off at the OPP booth for all outdated or unused medications again this year.
From 12noon until 1pm, financial Tax Advisory Specialist from the Ministry of Finance Jeremy Bertrand will present the 2nd free seminar: “Get Your Money! – Understanding Ontario’s Credits and Benefits for Individuals and Families."
Beginning at 1:30pm until 2:30pm, Amy MacFarlane of Recreational Respite will offer “Fun changes behavior!” Join her for an interactive presentation on keeping good mental health, physical wellness and social connectivity.
Seating for the seminars are limited to 70 so anyone wishing to reserve 10 or more seats for a small group are encouraged to contact the United Way Bruce Grey to reserve.
Entertainment will begin at 9:45am with Murray Smith and Friends and will feature Linsey Beckett, the Celtic Academy Dancers, The Salvation Army Golden Agers, and the choir along with Tai Chi demonstrations and the Bluewater Chorus of the Sweet Adelines.
