Longest Day of PLAY

June 21 marks the official start of summer and the Longest Day of PLAY. The Longest Day of PLAY is a community-based physical activity challenge to encourage Grey Bruce residents to get more active. To take part - get up, get moving and log your hours on the PLAY website.

The fourth annual Longest Day of PLAY challenge takes place June 20 – June 21. The PLAY in Bruce Grey physical activity initiative awards trophies to recognize the municipalities that log the most PLAY hours by percentage of population. Visit www.playbrucegrey.com for a list of events and to log your PLAY hours.

“Our goal every year is to surpass out totals from the previous year” said Jason Weppler, Health Promoter at the Grey Bruce Health Unit. “We know a lot of people are active on a daily basis and we want the numbers to back this up.”

The top three winning municipalities from 2013 were:

  • Hanover
  • South Bruce
  • Arran-Elderslie

PLAY would like to thank Bruce Power and 92.3 The Dock for their support of this event.
