Ontario Lung Association
Cones for Kids
Take a lick at childhood asthma when you indulge in an ice cream cone over the Civic Day weekend as part of The Lung Association’s second Cones for Kids campaign. Five ice cream parlours across Middlesex and Oxford Counties will be donating 25 cents from each cone served Aug 1-4 to The Lung Association to support its work around asthma and children. What a better way to enjoy a post Rib Fest treat then heading down to one of our locations and helping out a great cause in the process. Participating businesses in London are Chil Frozen Yogurt located on the corner of Richmond and Hymen St downtown and Forrats Chocolates on Commissioners Rd W in Byron. Asthma rates have quadrupled over the past twenty years and today as many as 20% of children in Ontario suffer from asthma. Asthma is a leading cause of hospitalization and school absence for children in this province. As part of the Cones for Kids campaign, these businesses will be helping The Lung Association provide education and support to children with asthma and their families through the Asthma Action program as well as fund vital medical research into this chronic respiratory condition.
The Lung Association thanks these businesses for getting on board with the second annual Cones for Kids campaign. From Aug 1-4 you can indulge your love for ice cream at any of the participating ice cream parlours, knowing that you are also supporting children in your community living with asthma.
