RBC 2014/2015 After School Grants Project Funding Announcement with the Fusion Youth Centre

The Fusion Youth Centre in partnership with RBC Royal Bank is proud to announce funding through the RBC After School Grants Project.  With this grant project, RBC has donated a total of $34,000 for after school programs at the Youth Centre for the 2014/2015 academic year in order to expand current programming and outreach in the Ingersoll community.

This is the third consecutive year Fusion has been a recipient of the RBC After School Grants Project. The funding received will provide academic, social and recreational programming at Fusion in the areas of technology, leadership, arts and culture, sports and fitness, and life skills. It will allow staff to increase program impact by reaching out to young people and providing resources to learning opportunities, development of skills and social interaction.

The objective of RBC’s After School Grants Project is to invest in children by helping them access learning and skills development opportunities that will help them stay in school and prepare for their future. The after school programs at Fusion meet the necessary objectives by reinforcing basic social skills, including co-operation and teamwork; increase student’s self-esteem through skill development; assist in improvement of academic achievement of youth; and encourage support between a youth’s school, home and community life.

To date, the RBC After School Programs have given more than $30 million in donations to provide children and youth with a safe place to go after school. These after school programs have helped kids stay in school and continue to realize their full potential. Fusion aims to ignite a passion for learning in our youth members through the learning and skills development opportunities made available to them.
The funding was announced with a cheque presentation on Friday, September 5, 2014 by RBC’s Regional Vice-President for the Huron, Perth and Oxford Region, Manon Johanns.
