Mentalhealth4kids.ca Expands to Serve Huron and Perth

Have you ever known that you needed information, but not known where to find it?

Mentalhealth4kids.ca is a website that takes the guess-work out of finding community resources that provide support for children who face mental health challenges.

Mentalhealth4kids was launched in February, 2010, providing information on programs and services for children's mental health in London/Middlesex, Elgin, and Oxford. The website was developed through a partnership between thehealthline.ca and the Student Support Leadership Initiative (SSLI), a province-wide initiative focused on enhancing the relationships between schools and community to support children with mental health challenges.

On September 14, 2011, the website expanded to include information on programs and services in Huron and Perth counties.

What does this mean for community members?

Parents, young people, teachers, and service providers across the region can now access information on over 270 organizations, as well as the 960 + programs and services they provide, in a timely manner.

Users can search for information by topic, by region, by age, by making selections in all three categories, or by keyword. They also have access to special features such as Ask an Expert, a calendar of related events, and resources.

Please visit the website at www.mentalhealth4kids.ca to learn more. Users can watch the online tutorial for instructions on how to use the website.

Video highlights from the February 12, 2010 public launch event for London/Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin are currently available and video highlights from the public launch for Huron and Perth with be available shortly.
