You Are Never Alone with ConnectCare: October 1 is National Seniors’ Day
ConnectCare is a medical alert system that gives seniors peace of mind and helps them to live independently, knowing that if a medical emergency occurs help is immediately available with just the push of a button.
From September 29 to October 3, ConnectCare is promoting seniors’ safety with an interactive display showcasing its newest technology– the AutoAlert Service.
With the Public Health Agency of Canada reporting falls as the leading cause of injury-related hospitalizations among Canadian seniors, and 20 to 30 per cent of seniors having a least one fall each year, the AutoAlert feature adds an extra layer of reassurance by detecting falls, and automatically placing a call for help if the person is unable to push the ConnectCare button.
ConnectCare is a non-profit outreach service of St. Joseph’s Health Care London located at Parkwood Hospital. It is for older adults, people with physical disabilities, or those who live alone and want the comfort of knowing help is available in the event of a medical emergency.
