Veterans Selling Works of Art
In the wake of Remembrance Day, the World War II and Korean War veterans who live at Parkwood Institute are selling their artwork at a sale on November 20.
These veterans, now in their 80s, 90s and even 100s, express their creativity through the creations they make in the Veterans Arts program’s woodworking, clay and textile studios.
Now, just in time for Christmas giving, they are selling this art at the Veterans Arts Craft Show and Sale.
Unique selections at the sale will include hand-made silk scarves and pillows, framed artwork, woodwork and woven mats.
At Parkwood Institute, part of St. Joseph’s Health Care London, the extensive arts program gives veterans a chance to learn new artistic skills or practice old ones, produce gifts for loved ones, and earn a little pocket money. Profits from each item sold go to the veteran artist.
Veterans Arts Craft Show and Sale
