United Way Perth-Huron
Campaign Chairs speak about Campaign Success

United Way Perth-Huron has typically announced their Annual Campaign achievement this time of year (late February), however, this year the charity has decided to change things up a bit and introduce a new fundraiser in April called “The Spirit of Community Celebration” where the campaign achievement will be announced along with this years supported partners. Additionally, United Way plans to make some significant announcements about their future community impact work.

The 2014 Campaign Co-Chairs Chief John Bates and Wayne Smith will be on hand to share the results and thank the community for their support and the 2015 Campaign Chair will be announced. Hinting about the success of the campaign, Chief Bates said “It has been a privilege for me to have served as a Co-Chair for this year’s United Way campaign”. Chief Bates emphasized, “Thanks to incredibly generous donors within our communities, this year’s campaign has seen great success. Their contributions will continue to ensure that the factors that negatively affect our various communities’ safety and well-being are addressed and that they remain livable and vibrant.”

Wayne Smith furthered this sentiment saying: “The sense of place in Perth Huron is deep and heartfelt by the people who live here, they care. That feeling made it a pleasure to have Co-Chaired this campaign”. Smith also remarked “United Way is well situated to be a catalyst for change in the way we meet the opportunities in our society and as we crisscrossed the counties that message was received with courtesy and attention. The community has once again reacted with generosity and trust”.

Ryan Erb, Executive Director is excited about The Spirit of Community Celebration and explained that “we will be celebrating all things United Way Perth-Huron: the 2014 campaign achievement, the top 15 campaign accounts, our amazing volunteers, agencies allocations and we will be proudly announcing how our United Way is planning on making a greater impact throughout Perth and Huron Counties moving forward”.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 30th from 6-10 pm at the Arden Park Hotel. Tickets are $45 and the proceeds will help to kick start the fall campaign. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
