Let’s Change It Up! 21st Huron Perth Diabetes Day

On Thursday, April 23rd those living with diabetes and their caregivers are invited to attend the 21st Annual Huron Perth Diabetes Day presented by the Huron Perth Diabetes Education Program.

This year’s event takes place at the Spruce Lodge Auditorium and will explore “Diabetes & Eye Health” with guest speaker Dr. Alana Vermeersch of Stratford Family Eye Care. There will also be a food demo by Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Victoria Zimmer and a discussion about driving and diabetes.

“We are very excited to be offering this annual event in Stratford this year at a location that offers local bus service. This event gives individuals living with diabetes a chance to find out what is new in the world of managing diabetes and get connected with local services,” states Amy Smith, Registered Nurse and CDE. Light refreshments will be served and local vendors and blood glucose meter representatives will be on hand for demonstrations.

To accommodate busy schedules this year’s event is being offered at two different times, one in the afternoon from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and one in the evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

To register for this event, please visit hpha.ca or call 519-272-8210 extension 2365 by April 9th. There is a registration fee of $5.00 which can be paid the day of the event.
