Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance
HPHA Winner of Three Festival Hydro Excellence Awards
The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) – Stratford General Hospital Site took home three awards at the third annual Festival Hydro energy-conservation recognition breakfast held at the Festival Inn on March 19, 2015.
HPHA was in good company with over 50 other local firms who were honoured for their efforts over the past year to reduce consumption and demand at their respective workplaces through saveONenergy programs.
Attended by HPHA’s Director of Facilities Management, Chuck Meyer and HPHA Electricians, Ron Hanna and Ron Mott, the three awards taken back to the Stratford Site to be celebrated were in the categories of Large Commercial – Retrofit, Business – Audit Program and Industrial – Process and Systems.
The Large Commercial Retrofit project consisted of lighting and variable frequency drive retrofits while the recomissioning of mechanical and electrical system services (air handling, heating and cooling) fell into the audit program category. A Smart Energy System Feasibility Study rounded out the awards in the Industrial – Process and Systems category.
“Facilities Management considers Festival Hydro a partner when developing our plans for energy reduction and long-term viability,” says Meyer. “Festival Hydro’s CEO Ysni Semsedini and Energy Conservation Officer Patty Mann are always there for advice and support. Together we're making HPHA a provincial leader in energy management.”
“This recognition is a testament to the commitment not only of our Facilities Management Team, but the entire HPHA Team to energy conservation and stewardship,” said HPHA President & CEO Andrew Williams. “Major energy consumers, like the HPHA, need to ensure energy conservation remains a priority and Festival Hydro is commended for the leadership it provides to its partners in this important area,” he stated.
