On April 15th Patrick McKenna Ditches Duct Tape and Heads to London!

H.B. Beal student to interview Gemini Award Winning Actor & Comic Patrick McKenna on April 15th following Leadership & Learning Breakfast about his lived experience with ADHD.

Patrick McKenna, best known for his role as Canada’s nerdy, techno-geek Harold on The Red Green show, will be in London on April 15 to share his personal journey as the keynote speaker at the 1st  annual Leadership & Learning Breakfast.

Presented by the Learning Disabilities Association of London Region, this event has emerged to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with learning disabilities. McKenna will talk about his personal struggle and the passion that drove him to create his documentary ADD & Loving It?!

ADD & Loving It?! is a ground-breaking blend of humour, hope, and science that dispels the myths about a controversial disorder – Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  In the documentary McKenna states “There’s millions of parents and children who are suffering.  As a former child and current adult and parent of ADD, trust me, I know.” McKenna, a relentless advocate is determined to educate and inform in an effort to pave the way for greater understanding of learning disabilities.

“Learning disabilities do not discriminate,” says Wendy Sanderson-Culley, Executive Director of The Learning Disabilities Association of London Region. “What we do know is that learning disabilities rate as the highest of all the exceptionalities identified within the school system.” Around 5-10% of the population has a learning disability.
