Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance Welcomes New General Internal Medicine Specialist

A warm welcome is extended to the newest member of HPHA’s Medical Staff, Internal Medicine Specialist Dr. Catherine Barry.

Dr. Barry was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland. After spending some time at McGill in Montreal for her undergraduate she returned to Newfoundland where she completed her Doctorate of Medicine at Memorial University. Following this, Catherine completed her three year Core Internal Medicine Training at Queen’s University in Kingston where she acted as a chief resident during her last year. She subsequently completed a one year fellowship at Queen’s in General Internal Medicine.

After spending several months working around Ontario including Sault Ste Marie, Belleville and Brockville, Catherine will join HPHA’s Internal Medicine group in early May.

“I have enjoyed working in Stratford both as a resident and a locum. I am happy to be joining the Internal Medicine team and becoming part of the community,” says Dr. Barry.

“We are pleased that Dr. Barry chose to join us at the Alliance,” says HPHA Chief of Staff Dr. Laurel Moore. “Catherine has spent time with us as a locum over the past few months and we have already seen that she is an excellent fit with the Internal Medicine Department and the Alliance. Most importantly her arrival will enable improved access for patient care.”
