Oxford72Hours.ca contest winners announced: Winners represent every municipality in Oxford County

More Oxford County residents will be ready if a disaster ever strikes our community. The launch of the new Oxford72Hours.ca website has been a success with more than 1200 visits to the new site in the first 12 days.

A collaboration among fire chiefs from each of the local area municipalities, the new online resource was launched during Emergency Preparedness Week to support local people, families and businesses in planning for disasters. As part of the website launch, a contest prompted residents to visit the new site and then answer questions about disaster preparedness.

Two winning entries have been selected from each municipality in Oxford County.

Congratulations to the following winners:

Blanford-Blenheim – Zsuzsanna Baclija and Beth McRuer
East Zorra-Tavistock -  Kim Hutcheson and Tina Sawdon
Ingersoll – Kimberly Hance and Jennifer Blancher
Norwich – Lisa King and Margarita Schep
South-West Oxford – Joanne Couch and Kristine Hayes
Tillsonburg –  Barb Mudford  and Rene Fett
Woodstock – Mary Leonard, Michelle Davis and Patty Swarts
Zorra – Sue Hilborn and  Angela Seltenrich

The winners will receive a Red Cross emergency survival kit, valued at $60. The kits will add to their level of preparedness, in the event of a disaster in Oxford County.

Residents who have not yet visited the site, are encouraged to check it out at www.Oxford72Hours.ca and follow the steps to ensure they have a plan and supplies in place in the case of a disaster.
