United Way Perth-Huron Announces 2015 Campaign Chair: Andrew Williams
United Way Perth-Huron is pleased to announce Andrew Williams has been named as the Chair of the 2015-2016 fundraising campaign. Williams is the President & CEO of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA), a position he has held since the organization’s formation in 2003. The HPHA is a voluntary alliance of the hospitals in Clinton, St. Marys, Seaforth and Stratford.
“We each have the power to help strengthen the fabric of our community. Through United Way we can donate the time and money to help thousands of residents across Huron and Perth, improving lives and strengthening families,” says Williams. “I work in both counties and see first-hand the importance of the United Way, so it is an honour and a privilege to have been asked to Chair the campaign. I look forward to engaging as many supporters as possible to assure its success.”
Ryan Erb, Executive Director, is thankful that Williams is on board. “We’ve known Andrew for a long time. He’s a passionate supporter and a long-standing volunteer. Andrew chaired our Allocations committee for several years. He is one of the reasons the HPHA is so strong in its support of United Way every year. He serves both counties and is one of the most respected leaders in our community. We are overjoyed that he said “yes.”
Throughout his 25+ year career in healthcare leadership, Andrew has had the opportunity to work in and with numerous healthcare organizations locally, and across Canada. His experience spans small, community, teaching and research hospitals; the community sector; regional systems; and private clinics.
Andrew holds an Honours Degree in Biology and Masters in Health Services Administration, both from Dalhousie University. He is an active Member of the Canadian College of Healthcare Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Surveyor with Accreditation Canada.
As Erb announced in April, the United Way Perth-Huron raised more funds in 2014-15 than ever in its 48-year history. Andrew Williams and his team are confident that they can build on that success. “People from all walks of life support the United Way. They know the money improves lives locally. We’ve made great strides, but I think most people understand that there’s still lots more work to be done.” For more information or to set up an interview, with Ryan Erb, Executive Director or Nelson Couto, VP Resource Development please contact 1-877-818-8867 or 271-7730 or via email at info@perthhuron.unitedway.ca.
