Clinton Site Celebrates New Communication Stations

On June 23, 2015 Staff, volunteers and community members gathered to celebrate the newly renovated Emergency Room and Inpatient Unit Communication Stations.
It was a very special and emotional day for all in attendance as the Inpatient Unit Communication Station was dedicated in memory of Sandy Robinson, RN. Sandy was a project team member and instrumental in the design of the station. Sadly, Sandy passed away in 2014, shortly before her team’s planning became a construction reality.

"Dedicating the Inpatient Communication Station in memory of Sandy Robinson speaks to the feeling of family that exists within our team and will be a constant reminder of the wonderful care she provided, and leadership she exhibited in all that she did,” stated Andrew Williams, President & CEO.

“Our Clinton site is very fortunate to have many committed staff in every department who give much of themselves to make Clinton the hospital it is,” added Mary Cardinal, Vice President Quality & Clinical Services, Clinton Site Administrator. “Sandy Robinson was one of those people. We are honoured to dedicate our Inpatient Communication Station in Sandy’s memory.”

Communication Stations function as a centralized work area that acts as the communication centre for both administrative and clinical tasks associated with patient care. Multiple members of the healthcare staff occupy this space and it also serves as a point of contact for both patients and visitors.

These renovations reflect HPHA’s commitment to providing collaborative care that is patient and family focused. The improved design of these stations will support work flow processes, computerization, integration of technology, communication of caregivers and optimal patient outcomes.
