Winners Announced - Guys Caring for Kids Photo Contest
Three top winners have been selected from over 75 entries in the sixth annual Guys
Caring for Kids Photo Contest. The photo contest challenges individuals to capture the
visual stories of men in caring relationships with children. While men are continually
involved in the lives of children, the majority of images of adults engaging with children
still feature women. Several local organizations have come together, under the umbrella
of Dad Central Grey Bruce, to encourage the role of men in the lives of children.
The Top Three submissions for 2015 are:
- “Daddy and Me” by Dale Hamill
- “Trust” by Megan Williams
- “Growing with Dad” by Brandi Gowan
Honourable Mentions include:
- “Lego with Papa” by Laura Smith-Honegger
- “My Beautiful Princess” by Essie King
- “Swimming” by Jeremy Cashubec
- “First Family Story” by Ashley Brouillette
- “Walking the Path Together” by Jennifer Cowan
- “Just a Little Higher” by Essie King
- “Fishing” by Lee Cardwell
An awards celebration to recognize and display the winning photos will take place 5:00
p.m., Thursday, September 24, at the Grey Bruce Health Unit. Dad Central Grey Bruce
thanks all entrants for their submissions and James Masters for his judging expertise.
