Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital
TDMH, in partnership with CBS, is making a lasting committment to the blood donation challenge
Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH) has joined the Canadian Blood Services “Partners for Life” program, demonstrating a commitment to saving lives by setting an annual target for blood donation (blood units) and encouraging team members, volunteers and physicians to help reach TDMH’s target. As a member of the program, TDMH will play an important role in increasing awareness of the need for blood.
“Given that this is our first year in the program, our goal for 2016 is to collect 25 blood donations, a target we hope to surpass”, says Deanna Goyette Service Coordinator, Laboratory Services.
TDMH’s medical and surgical programs care for medically complex and critically ill patients and maintaining a stable blood supply is a key factor in being able to care for our patients.
“As health care providers TDMH has a role to play in maintaining a stable blood supply”, says Tim Rice, Integrated Vice-President, Patient Services, “and our team member, physician and volunteer support for this vital community service is one more way TDMH continues to provide for the patients we serve.”
TDMH looks forward to being a proud Partner for Life member with the Canadian Blood Services, and, as a member, will play an important role in increasing awareness of the need for blood, while encouraging our team members to make a strong and lasting commitment to blood donation.
TDMH’s “Kick Off” celebration is planned for October 21st from 1100-1500 in the main lobby of the hospital.
