St Joseph's celebrates career milestones

In a recent ceremony, 750 staff, physicians and volunteers were honoured for their dedication, commitment and contributions to St. Josephs Health Care London.

London, Ontario – Collectively, they have given a remarkable 13,030 years of service to St. Joseph’s Health Care London. Individually, they each make a difference daily in the lives of patients and residents, their families who come to St. Joseph’s for care.

St. Joseph's Service Recognition Program is an annual celebration of the dedication and commitment of staff, physicians and volunteers. Each year, those who have reached milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and more years of service are honoured at a special ceremony. This year, 750 recipients who have given up to 45 years of service to the organization were recognized.

“St. Joseph’s has achieved many milestones with the help of everyone who works, volunteers and practices at St. Joseph’s,” says Dr. Gillian Kernaghan, President and CEO. “Service recognition is a way to thank those marking career milestones for never losing sight of the most important reasons we are here – to care for people who need us, to teach the next generation of professionals, and to break new ground in research and innovation.”

At the recent evening of celebration event, Dr. Kernaghan told the recipients “I am honoured to serve with you. I am humbled to lead this enduring organization, defined by a mission of health and healing and strengthened by a community of people who put our mission in to action every day. I thank you for all do, and for all that you are helping us achieve.”

On the behalf of St. Joseph’s board of directors, Board Chair Phil Griffin praised the recipients for upholding the legacy of the organization.”

“It is a tribute to each of you that our legacy of care, built on a solid mission and values, remains strong. Your hard work and focus on the people we serve is truly appreciated. It is what makes our organization a place of excellence and a community of compassion.”
