Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance
Same Exceptional Care, Different Look!

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the patient experience, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) will be introducing standardized colour-coded uniforms for all staff at the Clinton, St. Marys, Seaforth and Stratford Sites who are involved in direct patient care.

Effective November 2, 2015 staff across the HPHA who work directly with inpatients, as well as in the Antenatal Clinic, Chemotherapy Unit, Dialysis Unit and the four Emergency Departments, will wear standardized uniforms which include a colour-coded uniform top along with black pants.

“The colour-coded uniforms create a consistent and professional image for our staff,” says Donnalene Tuer Hodes, Chief Nursing Executive. “It also gives our patients a sense of reassurance knowing they can more easily identify who is in their room and the role of that employee in their care.”

To help educate patients and their families about this new look a chart listing the staff designations and corresponding uniform colours will be placed at the patient’s bedside and on the HPHA website.

“I commend the team for its leadership in moving to a standardized approach to uniforms for staff who interact with patients and families,” says Andrew Williams, President & CEO. “Similar to the introduction of open visiting hours, HPHA is a national leader in putting the interests and needs of patient and families at the forefront.”
