St Joseph's Health Care London - Parkwood Institute
Mark Our Place

London Ontario – One hundred years after Dr. John McCrae wrote the profound poem In Flanders Fields, it is inspiring the artwork and title of an art exhibit by veterans from Parkwood Institute.

The Mark Our Place exhibit at the Central Library features 42 pieces of art. “Some of these pieces were created by individuals and some by groups - including our intergenerational group with clients from the operational stress injury clinic and resident veterans,” says veterans arts coordinator Heather Derbecker.

Artwork in this exhibit includes mixed media dioramas, felt banners, poetry and ceramic tile, with most of it for sale at reasonable prices. Many of the veterans who created the artwork will be attending the exhibit opening on Nov. 5.

Opening reception:Thursday, November 5 from 2pm-3pm
Ongoing display:Tuesday, November 3 to Sunday, November 29
Where: Central Library, 2nd Floor, Gallery, 251 Dundas St, London
