South East Grey Community Health Centre
Calling all Recreation Programs in Chatsworth, Grey Highlands & Southgate

The South East Grey Community Health Centre is working with the Healthy Kids Community Challenge partners to pilot the creation and distribution of a recreation guide. The guide will include activities in Southgate, Grey Highlands, and Chatsworth that promote physical activity. We also want to include information on subsidies so no child or family is excluded from participating due to the cost of registration, equipment, transportation, or other barriers.

If you haven’t already submitted your recreation program or subsidy information to the Community Health Centre, please contact us to let us know about your recreation program. We want to get this recreation guide out before spring registrations begin, so hurry!

Contact the South East Grey Community Health Centre at 519-986-2222 ext 6376 or ext 6358 or by email at info@segchc.ca.

The Healthy Kids Community Challenge is taking place in the South East Grey communities to make it easier for children & their families to be physically active and eat healthy. We asked families and community organizations about what is needed to improve physical activity and one of the themes was better communication of all the great programs that are available.

“We know that there are many great programs and services in the area!” says Health Promoter, Crystal Ferguson-Farrell, “But, what we hear consistently from families, is that they can’t find information on these local programs. We are hoping that this recreation guide will be one way we can improve communication, promote the existing physical activity programs and maybe even improve participation.”

The Municipality of Grey Highlands, Township of Southgate, and Township of Chatsworth are working with local schools, public health, the community health centre, other community groups, private businesses, parents and youth to implement the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
