Family & Children's Services of St Thomas and Elgin Appoints New Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Family and Children’s Services of St. Thomas and Elgin County is delighted to announce the appointment of Derrick Drouillard as Executive Director effective June 20, 2016.
Derrick Drouillard brings nearly 24 years of child welfare experience with him to this role. Over the course of his career Mr. Drouillard has worked at various roles within three different Children’s Aid Societies in Ontario and is well known for his passion and enthusiasm for child welfare work. He is a strong advocate for children, youth and families and cares deeply about the St. Thomas and Elgin community.
For the past 4 years the agency has been fortunate to have Mr. Drouillard’s leadership as the Director of Service for our agency. As a member of the Senior Management Team he has been instrumental in a number of key initiatives related to children, youth and families. His focus has been in creating a clinical model of Child Welfare practice. His creativity has allowed work related to permanence for children to continue to grow and he is seen as an innovator and leader in the child welfare field.
Derrick is an exceptional leader who has demonstrated his ability to engage people in improving services for children youth and families both in our community and on a provincial level.
Derrick holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfred Laurier University. His education has continued in recent years as he has taken executive leadership courses at Schulich School of Business, and most recently Rotman School of Management.
