Improving Support for Walking in St Thomas
Do you love to walk? Do you wish it was easier for pedestrians to move around our City? We are asking people of all ages and abilities to join us to improve the walkability of St Thomas. On Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 6:30-9pm at Memorial Arena there will be a workshop to:
- Learn about what in a community can support and encourage walking
- Identify barriers to walking and opportunities to improve walking in St Thomas
- Meet others interested in building a community that supports walking and learn about what is underway in St Thomas.
This workshop is one part of a five year project to make walking easier and more appealing for people of all ages and abilities. Elgin-St Thomas Public Health, the City of St Thomas and local developers Doug Tarry Homes Ltd., Hayhoe Homes, Springwater Developments Inc. are working together on the project. The project is funded in part by the Public Health Agency of Canada.
If you are interested in attending the working on Wednesday April 6, 2016 from 6:30-9pm, please register with Elgin St Thomas Public Health at 519-631-9900 ext 1308 or by email at tterpstra@elginhealth.on.ca before April 2, 2016.
