Free Opportunity for High School Girls

Brescia University College, Canada's only all women's institution, has been successful in securing funding to run 3 free Just Own It! Boot Camps as a part of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative this spring.

Our Boot Camps are being offered to high school girls from across Ontario and will help girls to develop a wide range of skills that will be useful in any career (no business knowledge or experience required). We know that most people ‘fall into’ entrepreneurship and we strongly encourage girls to apply, even if they do not intend to pursue a career in business.

The program will be offered:

  • Cohort 1: May 25-29
  • Cohort 2: June 1-5
  • Cohort 3: June 8-12

Just Own It! will include 4 days of exciting programming designed to offer intensive, hands-on training in five major areas:

  • The Business Model
  • Customer Discovery
  • Product Prototyping
  • Financial Management
  • Pitching an Idea

The program will connect participants with 5 Program Leaders who will stay, eat, and work alongside them, introduce participants to a minimum of 10 young women entrepreneurs and role models and increase girls’ confidence in their entrepreneurial abilities.

Participation in this program is completely free of charge and includes:

  •  4-night stay in Brescia’s Clare Hall Residence
  • All meals
  • Workshop materials

Please note: There is limited subsidy available to cover the cost of transportation – please email our Program Coordinator, Nikita Miller if you would like to know more.

More information about the program and application can be found at http://brescia.uwo.ca/justownit/joi-bc/.
