Celebrating Nursing
Setting the state for National Nursing Week, May 8-14, a special event to honour nurses takes place at the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Thursday, May 5. The third annual Best Practice Champions Open House celebrates local nursing excellence. Nurses from across Grey Bruce will share innovative nursing best practice and highlight how they bring that to their workplace. The event will feature Pat Mordan speaking about the importance of Nursing Leadership in a changing health care system. There will be additional presentations from local nurses on the theme of implementing evidenced-based practices.
The Best Practice Champions Open House will also feature an acknowledgement of the 2016 winners of the Bayshore Broadcasting "Caring Nurse Award." Based on nominations from the public the Award is presented to local nurses from all sectors who make a difference in the lives of their patients.
The event is jointly supported by the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario, Rockwood Long-Term Care and Grey Bruce Nursing Practice Network.
