Don't want to miss opportunity with Renowned Dementia Educator Teepa Snow!
Together with the Seniors Education Committee of the Huron-Perth Area Provider Table, the Alzheimer Societies of Perth County and Huron County are bringing Teepa Snow, a well-known dementia education specialist from North Carolina to the Best Western Arden Park Hotel in Stratford, Ontario on June 16th and 17th, 2016. Teepa has over 35 years of clinical experience in the field of geriatrics and dementia care. She will be presenting two full days of dementia education with the theme "Dementia 360: Getting it Right, Keeping it Light" to local health care professionals working in long-term care, hospital and community settings, family members learning to cope with the affects dementia has on their lives and to individuals interested in learning more about supporting persons living with dementia.
Teepa is committed to building a program of support and care that provides a just right match between what the person needs, is able to do, the environment and care partners. Participants in the upcoming training sessions will be inspired to meet the person with dementia where he/she is at in order to assist the person to live well with dementia. Participants will gain a better understanding of the impact of dementia and strategies to enhance their practice in caring for individuals living with dementia.
