Alexandra Marine and General Hospital Appoints Interim CEO
The Board of Directors of the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital wishes to thank William R. Thibert MHSc, CHE (Honorary) for assuming the Acting CEO position for the past four months. Under his leadership, the organization has continued to provide our full range of patient services. We appreciated his willingness to break his retirement and return for a short period. We wish him all the very best as he resumes his retirement.
The Board of Directors completed an extensive process and received the endorsement of the South West LHIN to hire a CEO for the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. We have started the recruitment process for a permanent CEO and anticipate it will take several months.
In the meantime, the Board of Directors of the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Goodfellow MBA, CPA, CMA to the position of Interim CEO effective May 31, 2016. He will focus on ensuring the day to day operations continue to run smoothly. Colin Goodfellow is a seasoned health care leader with extensive policy and operational experience. His past policy leadership experience includes service as Director of Policy and Legislative Affairs for the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA), and later as Vice President of the Hospital Council the Greater Toronto Area. His operational experience includes Vice-President of Strategic Operations at the Toronto East General Hospital, and, most recently, serving ten years as CEO of the Kemptville District Hospital. In this role, he was an active member of the OHA Board of Directors and a thought leader on their Small Rural and Northern Leadership Council as a champion for rural health hubs. He is also an active member of the Canadian College of Health Leaders, where his a peer reviewer for the national magazine Healthcare Management Forum, and was guest editor of their recent issue on application of lean methodology and technology to accelerate system integration.
