Text to 9-1-1

The London Police Service and the London Fire Department are proud to announce that as of this date, June 27, 2016, they are able to offer text with 9-1-1 emergency phone call services to the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Speech Impaired Community (DHHSI) within the City of London and Middlesex County.

Text with 9-1-1 is a service offered to the DHHSI community that allows for the same access to the emergency 9-1-1 phone call system as the rest of the population. The service allows the 9-1-1 voice call to be conducted by way of text messaging with a registered cellular phone.

If you are a member of the DHHSI community with a cellular phone and wish to have this service available to you, you are required to register your phone with your cellular service provider. To learn more about text with 9-1-1 service and how to register your pone for this service, please contact your cellular service provider or visit www.textwith911.ca.
