Grey Bruce Health Services Welcomes Four New Members to Board of Directors

Four new members have been elected to the Grey Bruce Health Services Board of Directors.

"We are pleased to have such a qualified group of professionals representing the health care interests of our six hospitals," said Mark Ostland, Chair of the Board. "We are a skills-based Board, and our new members have the expertise and experience needed to govern a multi-site hospital corporation within a demanding and ever-changing healthcare environment."

The following Board members have been elected for a three-year term:

Aman Sidhu (Member-at-large)
Aman is a lawyer for Bruce Grey Child and Family Services in Owen Sound, and has a strong background in the areas of employment, family and real estate law.

Patsy Taylor (Member-at-large)
For 24 years, Patsy worked as a lawyer with Scotiabank's Employment Law Group. In addition, she is a Founding Member of the Steering Committee for the Canadian Human Rights Practitioners.

Ron Goldsmith (Member-at-large)
Ron is a former professor from Ryerson University, and previously served on the Board from 2011 to 2015. He was the Chair of the Five Foundations committee that spearheaded the most recent $11.4 million Hospital Campaign.

Bill Van Wyck (Geographic Member for Municipality of Meaford)
Bill has owned his own corporation for over 35 years and is currently the President of W.R Van Wyck Group Limited. Bill served seven years on the Board of Governors for Georgian College, is a past member of the Governor's Advisory Committee of Colleges Ontario.

In addition, two board members have retired - Steve Schofield, and Joan Homer, who served as part Chair of the Board, Both were acknowledged and thanked at the Board's last meeting for their years of dedicated service, excellent leadership, and commitment to GBHS.
