Flood at Clinton Public Hospital Affects Outpatient Laboratory

Ensuring continued access to high quality healthcare remains the number one priority as the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) - Clinton Public Hospital site cleans up after a major basement flood that occurred on July 31, 2016.

Areas affected by the flood include the Laboratory, Cafeteria, Materials Management and the Medical Device Reprocessing Department. The damage in the Laboratory is the only area affecting direct patient care. Unit further notice, there will be access to Outpatient Laboratory Services. Patients requiring this service are being asked to consult with their Family Physician to determine the best alternative location.

"The entire Clinton Public Hospital team is to be commended for the response to the flood," said Andrew Williams, HPHA President and CEO. "Through their efforts, damage that could have been significantly worse was largely contained."

The cause of the flood is under review and further updates will be provided as required.
