Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) are the
Ontario’s government’s answer to planning,
integrating and funding local health services to
make it easier for patients to access the care they
need. On June 28, the Ontario Ministry of Health
and Long-Term Care announced that London will
be the headquarters of the South West Ontario
LHIN, which will include the counties of Elgin,
Middlesex, Oxford, Perth, Huron and Bruce, part of
Grey county, and the cities of London and
Stratford. Norm Gamble of Meaford was named
Chair of the Board, with Janet McEwen of London
and Kerry Blagrave of Listowel as founding board
members. Tony Woolgar was named CEO.
