London, Ontario - Hospital Report 2006 –
Acute Care was released today by the Ontario
Hospital Association (OHA) and the Ministry of
Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC). In this
balanced score card of performance measures, St.
Joseph’s Hospital has sustained a strong standing
in many categories, particularly in the area of
Patient Satisfaction.
“St. Joseph’s Hospital scores for patient
satisfaction were the highest in Ontario for all four
indicators
in the report,” says Karen Dyer, director of Primary
Care & Inpatient Surgery at St. Joseph’s Health
Care, London.
The Hospital Report evaluates hospital
services in four key areas or quadrants: Patient
Satisfaction;
Clinical Utilization and Outcomes; Financial
Performance and Condition; and System
Integration &
Change. The purpose of the report is to help
identify opportunities for quality improvement in
patient
care and hospital management, and to provide
citizens with information about their hospital’s
performance.
Karen adds, “We are very pleased with the
results which show our organization remains
focused on
those we care for even as St. Joseph’s role in
many areas continues to evolve. We appreciate the
work of all our team members for maintaining a
high standard of compassionate care and
managing
effectively in a challenging climate of change.”
Hospital Report 2006 – Acute Care was produced
by the Canadian Institute for Health Information
(CIHI) and is the sixth hospital-specific report on
Acute Care.
