“Ontario’s new Local Health Integration
Networks are an innovative made-in-Ontario
solution to planning, coordinating and delivering
health care. Here in the South West we are
dedicated to working closely with our partners -
health care consumers and providers - to deliver
the very best care to those who need it, when and
where they need it. Together, we are building a
health care system that meets local needs while
ensuring access to high quality care for all.”
That’s part of a message from the CEO and
Board Chair on the new website for the South
West Local Health Integration Network (SWLHIN).
The SWLHIN, part of the government’s health
transformation strategy, is responsible for hospitals,
CCACs, community support agencies, mental
health and addiction agencies, community health
centres and long-term care homes in our region.
The site,
www.southwestlhin.ca,
launched in mid-July, includes information for
both health care providers and consumers. If
you’ve been wondering what this new organization
is all about, this is the place to go. You’ll meet
board and staff members, learn more about
integration activities, find answers to frequently-
asked questions, and discover how you can get
involved in shaping the future of our health
system.
