Service Description: Ensures the safety and security of all children who are registered, eligible to be registered and community members of Oneida Nation of the Thames
  • Enforcing the Child, Youth and Family Services Act
  • Responding to protection applications
  • Working with Children’s Aid Society during investigations
  • Participating and responding to child protection hearings
  • Ensuring that cultural values are adhered to during Children’s Aid investigations
  • Implementing cultural programming that impacts children and teaches them about Oneida heritage and tradition
  • Assist families in navigating the child welfare process through referrals to legal services
  • Acts as a party in all child welfare court proceedings and meetings with case workers
  • Provides referrals to other Indigenous programs and services
