Adoption information services to adopted adults (18 years or over) and eligible birth family members
Adoption Disclosure - Adopted adults and births parents can apply for information from birth and registration records * birth parents or adopted adults can file a Disclosure Veto to prevent the release of information
Notices - "No contact notice" and "Notice of contact preference" may be filed by birth parents and adopted adults
Non-Identifying Information - Adoption records contain information which may include the date of the adoption, the name of the agency that handled the adoption and the care a child received before the adoption took place * adopted adults, adoptive parents and eligible birth relatives may apply to receive this non-identifying information from adoption records
Severe Medical Searches - Birth parents or birth family members may have important family medical information that can benefit an adopted person or the children of an adopted person, also adoptees may want to share information with birth family members about a severe mental or physical illness * this service can help birth relatives and adoptees exchange this information
Adoption Disclosure Register - By voluntarily adding their names and contact information to the register, adopted adults can exchange contact information with their birth parents and certain birth relatives to help them find one another * this service is provided when the adoption was registered in Ontario
