Service Description: Programs which focus on prevention, awareness and education of common childhood injuries

Helmet Giveaway Program
- Provides helmets to all children and teens presenting to hospital involved in a crash in a wheeled activity, such as cycling or skateboarding * also provides information regarding bicycle safety and proper helmet fitting

iDRIVE: ROAD STORIES - DVD available for high school students on unsafe driving and strategies to avoid them

IMPACT
- Educates high school students about consequences of high risk driving behaviours

Period of PURPLE Crying
- In-hospital education campaign to prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome * educates parents and caregivers on why infants cry, how to cope when feeling overwhelmed and prevents attitudes or behaviours which can lead to shaking or abuse

VIP Program - Education program for Grade 6 students on medical consequences of high risk behaviours
