Service Description:
Offers people with disabilities an opportunity to ski and snowboard with support of trained volunteers and adaptive equipment
  • programs located across Ontario
  • Learn to Race Program - for those who are more independent and have a need for speed
  • volunteers constantly needed to help support on the ski hill, with program administration and on Board of Directors

Programs held at:
  • Sault Ste Marie (Searchmont), Haliburton (Sir Sam's), Barrie (The Heights), Barrie (Snow Valley), Barrie (Horseshoe Resort), Caledon (CSC), and Oshawa, (Brimacombe)
  • Learn to Race Program is offered at Craigleith Ski Club in Collingwood.
Fees: Membership - $47/year ; Program fees vary depending on program location
Application: Physician's permission, medical history, required

  • individual assessments necessary to determine suitability for program

  • registration begins in September/October at individual participating locations

  • must obtain CADS membership ($47) for participation, but membership does not guarantee placement in program and should only be purchased after acceptance into program
  • Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Children, youth and adults with disabilities who require additional support and are unable to participate with existing ski schools ; volunteers must 18 years or older and are required to complete Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
