Allergies are a condition in which the immune system is overly sensitive to substances that are generally not harmful. Allergies are very common, and both genetic and environmental factors play a role. While minor allergies can be easily treated or even outgrown, severe allergic reactions need to be treated immediately.

Anyone who needs a test can get one and does not need an OHIP card. Tests are made available by appointment only at assessment centres and at pharmacies
